Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the Cockrell School of Engineering. Also, a Polaris Venture Partner. Invented Ethernet at Xerox Parc in 1973. Founded 3Com Corporation in Silicon Valley in 1979. Received the National Medal of Technology in 2005.
