Big news on the LED lighting front today. Cree and Philips have entered into a patent cross-licensing agreement as companies jockey for position in the burgeoning LED lighting market. The move follows last month’s LED licensing deal between GE and Rambus, a pretty big deal in and of itself. One has to wonder what Sylvania has planned (or companies it’s eyeing) and how the recent development affects its current tech-sharing agreement with Philips.
