Kudos to Sony for releasing a sleeker, more energy efficient PlayStation 3. Green gamers will be pleased to know that the new PS3 Slim consumes half the electricity of the unit that launched in 2006 thanks to a smaller 45 nm Cell processor and a number of design tweaks. But the good news ends at Blu-ray playback. Compared to a standalone Blu-ray player, the PS3 Slim draws nearly four times the power. So if you’re a movie buff first and a gamer second, it’s something to keep in mind.
