It is as if every time Amazon Web Services makes an announcement, it is the only cloud computing news that matters on that day. With the introduction of Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), today is no different. A big criticism of cloud computing has been that enterprises don’t want shared infrastructure. When other providers starting offering their own virtual private clouds, Amazon bore the brunt of this criticism. Like it always does, however, Amazon has answered its critics and likely will outsell its competitors in the VPC space. A big reason is that unlike other virtual-private options, Amazon’s is planted firmly in the cloud procurement model.
