Installing software without an optical drive

Probably the most frequently asked question about Tablet PCs and ultra-portable PCs is how to install software without an optical drive. Many of these small devices do not have internal optical drives and owners are confronted with the problem created when software needs to be installed. James Radcliffe has written an excellent article on Tablet PC Talk that offers three solutions to this problem and provides detailed instructions on how to do them. He covers using another optical drive on the network, using an external optical drive, and creating an image of the install media to install without any optical drive. Very good article that is worth a bookmark for when you need it.
