Reasons for using social-TV apps
A new category of digital media has emerged in the living room: social TV. An important aspect of this new area are social-TV apps that allow users to discover new content, hold discussions with friends, and check into shows. When asked, in a recent GigaOM Research survey, why they used social TV apps, 22 percent of respondents said they did so to find out what their friends were watching.
