Americas: smartphone forecasts, 2011–2015With a growing middle class and the increased availability of 3G and 4G networks in Latin America, the demand for smartphones is increasing rapidly. From 2011 to 2015, the share of 3G and 4G subscribers is expected to grow from 9 percent to 52 percent in South America and from 3 percent to 17 percent in Central America.
