I am a sociologist of technology, with a specialization in technologies that improve the social and ecological good. I have spent the past 15 years researching and participating in movements to expand civic participation and promote technologies that represent ground-breaking visions for the future. Some of my seminal research projects include the youth movement in Egypt and the electric car movement in the U.S. I have a Ph.D. in the Sociology from Columbia University, an M.A. in Anthropology from the American University in Cairo, and a B.A. in History from U.C. Berkeley.
