The critical function of cloud services catalogs
In his Weekly Update, David Linthicum, the Gigaom Research curator for cloud, considers ‘Why cloud services catalogs are all that, but not all that well understood’. He sees them as an outgrowth of SOA (service-oriented architecture) registries and repositories that provide critical governance and control as many IT departments transition to a cloud brokerage role within the enterprise.
