A taxonomy of cloud applications

In his Weekly Update, David Linthicum, the Gigaom Research curator for cloud, looks at ‘Considering cloud service tiers’. He applies the familiar concept of tiered levels of service to how enterprises can categorize their levels of cloud application use and requirements. It provides a useful framework, or taxonomy, for handling the many types of cloud services that any substantial enterprise will be using, and for organizing them within the cloud services catalog that he has previously discussed.
