The Brazilian cloud computing market explodes
The Brazilian cloud computing market will see an increase in market revenues from $328.8m in 2013 to $1.1b by 2017, according to research by consulting firm Frost & Sullivan.
According to the study, the Brazilian market segment is gaining rapid traction due to its “ability to turn capital expenditure into operational expenditure and its provision of anywhere-anytime access to information,” as well as infrastructure resource flexibility to end users. This is pretty much the same story in the USA, but on a bit smaller scale.
The adoption of cloud computing seems to be strongest with the Brazilian economy, more so than in other South American countries. The rapid growth of cloud computing is driven largely by telecommunications companies that have been pushing cloud computing in Brazil, as well as the sophistication of the market.
I suspect that this Brazilian market, much like other markets their size, will find a large benefit from cloud computing. Challenges will be around infrastructure issues, security, etc., which they will figure out, given time.
