Vesting for 401k matching contributions is one example. If a person must wait several years for these to vest that tends to incent one to remain with the current employer. Length of vacation is another example. As a person moves into their 30s and 40s, resetting to two weeks vacation just isn&#039;t realistic. One must have time to participate and enjoy in the duties of parenthood.]]></description>
