The Wall Street Journal has an in-depth article on the Internet of Things today, which covers some of the impediments to what is still a very good pace of adoption for the technology.

The annual Consumer Electronics Show is also upon us, and so, inevitably, are examples of just how pervasive this sensor data-to-mobile technology is about to become—from the Internet-connected toothbrush to parking your car remotely with a smartphone. Of course, not all applications will make sense or be successful.

From an enterprise perspective, however, the Journal piece addresses questions of standards and the not-insignificant consideration of liability as more products and services gather more data in more environments.
