    I can understand why Google opted to make Glass with Android — many of those apps will be very different than anything we’d use on our phones, so maybe it makes sense.

    But you make a great point about leveraging the functionality of the smartphone. It will be very interesting to watch the evolution of smartphone-based wearables vs. stand-alone devices over the next few years.

  2. Agree on long term. And by releasing now, Google starts the crowd sourced innovation. Who knows where this will lead. We’re just learning about “Wearables”.

    That said, Glass, is a bit mixed up – not an MVP. A wrist device, at $150, gives you notification. Other head mounted cameras cost far less than $1,500. And one wonders why put Android in Glass. Let Glass leverage the SmartPhone’s CPU and Communications capabilities.
