Cult of Mac is reporting that Apple’s upcoming iOS 6 won’t require users to enter a password before downloading free apps. That’s a good thing for most users, of course, because entering a password can be a bit of a headache — especially on an iPhone when you’re busy doing other things. But I think Apple will get some push-back here from parents whose kids may download something that may not be appropriate. I know Apple works hard to keep its App Store scrubbed, but there are still some titles I definitely don’t want my young kids seeing. I’ll be watching to see whether Apple gets any flak here — and if my kids download anything questionable onto the family iPad.
