Today in Mobile
AT&T today took the wraps off new shared data plans that look very similar to the plans Verizon Wireless recently introduced, but as my colleague Kevin Fitchard discusses here there are two key differences: AT&T’s plans are slightly more affordable, and they’re optional. That’s important because Verizon’s new plans — which are mandatory for new customers regardless of how many devices they have — will be cheaper for some subscribers but more expensive for others. So AT&T has an edge among savvy users of mobile data.
