Today’s must-read comes from my colleague Kevin Fitchard, who asks whether Ford is facing off against Apple over the connected car. Apple has made the connected car a key component of iOS 6, of course, and is partnering with nine auto manufacturers to integrate Siri into onboard systems. Ford, on the other hand, continues to woo consumers with its Sync technology. The battle pits Ford’s car-based system against Siri, which has become a fundamental (if flawed) part of iOS. Apple has the advantage here, I think, but it will need to continue to improve Siri’s usability if it hopes to capitalize.
