Samsung trotted out its latest handset at a much-hyped press event in London today, and the initial reactions are pretty positive: The Android phone boasts a big 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display and some other next-generation specs, as The Verge covers here. We’ll have to wait at least a day or two for the first real reviews, Engadget offers a hands-on video of Samsung’s new flagship device here. The Galaxy S III will be available in Europe later this month and hit North American shores this summer, so if the phone is as solid as it appears — and if it’s marketed aggressively — it could give Android a big boost in the battle between the two dominant mobile operating systems.
