Nokia brought out its IP artillery in a big way this morning, filing patent-infringement claims against HTC, Research In Motion and Viewsonic in both the U.S. and Germany. The 45 claims include both hardware and software features for technologies used for power management, multitasking and other important functions. Florian Mueller has a list of all of the patents in question here, and Mueller notes that Nokia has both a powerful patent portfolio and an impressive track record in the patent courtroom. So you can add these new battles to the patent-litigation feeding frenzy that continues to escalate throughout the tech world.
