BIA/Kelsey analyst Mike Boland runs through his firm’s mobile advertising forecast, which projects that mobile local searching will surpass that of desktop local search activity in 2015. Google is scheduled to report its earnings this week, and interested parties are wondering if mobile will eat into its margins. Some blamed mobile search – which could drag down overall cost-per-click – for slightly sluggish Google earnings last quarter, though the company denied that was the cause. Google is still figuring out mobile search, but it’s under no serious threat from competitors – Apple included – for the present.
