Today in Mobile

CNET today has an interesting piece outlining how sales staffers at AT&T stores in Manhattan aren’t pushing the new Nokia Lumia 900 — in fact, they don’t even seem very knowledgeable about the device. This is anecdotal evidence, to be sure, but it’s disconcerting and comes on the heels of reports of a software glitch that spurred the carrier to offer rebates that effectively make the phone free with a contract. The success of the Lumia 900 will go a long way toward determining the success of Windows Phone as a whole, and both Microsoft and Nokia have made huge bets on the device. All three players need to step up their games and execute much better for the phone — and the platform — to reach its potential.
