Today in Cleantech
Massachusetts based VC firm, Flagship Ventures, has raised a $270 million fund, devoted to early stage investments. It’s cleantech interests relate to biofuels, green chemicals, water and nutrition. While Flagship is interested in areas unrelated to energy, which is the basis for most of today’s cleantech, it is forward looking in that it is addressing issues of food supply (water and nutrition) related to a ballooning world population. Any new VC for early stage cleantech is welcome these days and I’ll be watching to see how Flagship deploys its new capital.
