Ensuring that it didn’t just end up as a repeat of bigger events laid on by the company in other cities, Salesforce used today’s Dreamforce event in New York to make a few announcements. Working their Radian6 acquisition, the company announced a social marketing and monitoring solution. However, TechCrunch notes the lack of serious integration with Salesforce’s flagship social product, Chatter. Separately, AppExchange was tweaked to highlight mobile applications of various kinds. Salesforce has an increasingly disjointed set of products, and while today’s announcements show continuing innovation, there’s clearly a need for some more joining up. Doubtless this will come.
