Today in Mobile

It’s been a predictably slow news day as CTIA winds down (not that there was much news out of the show anyway), but Apple is making headlines again with reports that the 16 GB model of its new iPhone 4S is already sold out for pre-order at AT&T, Sprint and Verizon Wireless. This isn’t entirely surprising, of course, given the rave reviews the handset has enjoyed in the last few days. But it’s worth remembering that there were plenty of people who were very disappointed Apple didn’t drop any jaws when it announced the gadget last week. This just proves that Cupertino doesn’t need to overwhelm everyone, every time, to thrive.
