Today in Mobile

Oy vey. The Los Angeless Times this morning quotes a Hewlett Packard executive saying the company may resurrect the TouchPad, the webOS-powered tablet that it pulled the plug on less than two weeks ago. EVP Todd Bradley said HP could bring back the TouchPad or launch another tablet, and that the company is still considering licensing its acclaimed (but twice unsuccessful) operating system. Meanwhile, webOS is losing whatever traction it had gained as developers leave the orphaned platform for more stable ecosystems. Which demonstrates that HP should never have publicly said anything about its mobile business until it had decided on a direction and began to execute.
