Today’s headlines are largely about Apple: Cupertino has surpassed Nokia to become the world’s leading smartphone maker, according to Strategy Analytics, and the Atlantic points out that Apple’s $76 billion in cash makes the company more liquid than the U.S. government. Most impressive, though, is Asymco’s estimate that Apple generates a whopping 66 percent of profits of the top mobile vendors. So while there’s plenty of talk about Apple vs. Samsung and iOS vs. Android, Apple is simply crushing the competition when it comes to what matters most.
