Gary Kim at TechZone360.com has an interesting post questioning whether telecom companies are “still making money.” The piece cites Bernstein Research analyst Craig Moffett, who claims that AT&T and Verizon Wireless aren’t earning a return above their capital expenditures. That’s despite the fact that our appetite for mobile data has never been higher and continues to grow. So there are still plenty of opportunities for carriers who are willing to forget their old business models and develop innovative new ways to make money.
