Today in Connected Consumer

It seems many are surprised that Netflix went down the path of buying original content, but it’s the natural evolution of things for a company looking to build a large audience. Much like HBO did, it needs to find a way to make itself indispensable, and original content can help it do that. I don’t think Netflix will make many of these deals – they can’t afford it financially – but I see them possibly making smaller bets like this over time.
