Today in Social

It’s pretty quiet today from a news perspective. Facebook may be phasing out its Share button and replacing it by making Likes automatically post a snippet of content to the user’s news feed. It may be just an experiment, though. Publishers should take to this – it exposes more content, and, unless Facebook changes it, Likes automatically subscribe a user to the Like-ee. That could lead to more communications. It might make publishers more dependent on Facebook, and, as usual, Facebook is doing this tinkering without telling users what’s going on. What do you think, is this a fiendish bait-and-switch move, or a way to make link-sharing simpler and more effective?
