Today in Connected Consumer
Day 2 of CES is in full swing, and the big themes of the show can be summed up as tablets, smart TVs and three-screen video. Cisco’s announcement of their Videoscape initiative seems to have resonated for some, and the appification of TV seems to finally be getting some attention, at least from the business press if not consumers. One of the biggest surprises from the show this year is the partnerships large cable providers are doing with smart TV manufacturers to provide a bundle of channels over the top. It’s not even the end of CES, and already my prediction calling 2011 the year of the virtual operator is coming true, even if its from a player who also is heavily invested in facilities based delivery of video.
