Great post. I agree with you and will go further to say that with Groups - Facebook becomes even more interesting for maintaining professional relationships than it has been. The lack of compartmentalization has been a hindrance till date. 

If users can switch context from personal to professional within the same experience - that is truly powerful. I am sure Linkedin is looking at this closely.
