Some more fodder for the “why Google should fear the social web” argument: some mobile users are using the App Store for search, instead of Google. Also, this long analysis of content farm Demand Media calls out some differences between direct and indirect intent, and how that affects search. That same piece suggests – with big caveats – that Google might use Demand to do a better job of identifying indirect intent, or as a back door into working more effectively with Facebook.
