There’s renewed buzz about what Google’s grand social media scheme might be. Some are calling it “Google Me,” and looking for a launch soon. Om has opined that Google’s DNA lacks a social gene, and the rise of the social web could challenge its core business. Where could Google gain a competitive foothold? Google should avoid the obvious attack on the Outlook-Windows Messenger enterprise because it has to serve consumers, and social data to feed search won’t come only from within corporate walls.
