Today in Mobile

Just a few days after Goldman Sachs slashed its 2010 estimates for Nexus One sales, Flurry has further dampened Google’s parade with estimates that Google has sold only 135,00 units of its flagship handset in the last 74 days (which is how long it took Apple to sell 1 million iPhones). There are lots of different reasons for this, of course, and Google fans have hastily asserted that the Nexus One is more of a first step in changing the wireless industry than a real attempt to sell phones. Regardless, the news underscores the importance of Smartphone Marketing 101: if you want to move phones, you absolutely must promote them.
