Apple has once again pulled the rug out from underneath its developers: the company suddenly pulled all Wi-Fi-sniffing apps from its App Store, citing a change in policy regarding how apps interact with Wi-Fi. The move won’t have a huge immediate impact on either developers or consumers, as the iPhone comes with a basic Wi-Fi finder, and apps that use GPS and databases to locate hotspots were unaffected. But you have to wonder just how many times Apple can jerk its developers around before they abandon the platform entirely.
