According to new data from Flurry Analytics, video games for the iPhone OS have grown from 5 percent of the mobile game market to nearly 20 percent in the past year, mostly at the expense of Sony’s PlayStation Portable but also taking share from Nintendo’s market-leading DS. With the iPad about to ship, Apple is poised to become an even bigger player in mobile gaming. Now, Nintendo is poised to fight back with an new generation DS featuring a 3D display.
