I have seen how QR codes were used in Japan since 2005. They are now engrained in all media.

"The first consumer-facing mobile barcode app first appeared in the U.S. more than 10 years ago as a way to enable users to access online information from their phones without having to manually enter URLs."

Cue the Cuecat. Did the first mobile versions actually precede the CueCat?

Back then, analysts made fun of the notion of people wanting to interact with "a coke can". But today, it's seen as genius:

^^^I think it's genius. I just am not sure if it will be QR codes, true images, OCR, or other. But the timing finally seems right.^^^

yep, and programs will manipulate them sooner than you can type typppoo'd so that the link will work to make the impression desired through the edited manipulation of stupid automation. and don't ever forget that automation is stupid. not the concept, the concept is great, it's just that its like an actor, nothing but a vessel that is only imbued with what its told to be true, not what is.
