Palm has had a rough few weeks: Its latest quarterly earnings failed to meet Wall Street’s expectations, sales of the Pre have slowed and Verizon Wireless reportedly cut its order of the Pixi after the gadget failed the carrier’s tests. But its app store for webOS offerings has made significant gains and is rapidly closing in on 1,000 titles, according to Brighthand. That’s a tiny fraction of Apple’s massive library, of course, but it’s a sign that the company is making substantial progress with its developer community. And it may be enough to persuade Kevin to stick with his Pre.
