A study just released by CA and VMware supports recent findings not only that more machines are being virtualized, but also that companies are moving beyond mere server virtualization. Also noteworthy are that 72 percent of respondents are aggressively virtualizing production servers, and 64 percent are comfortable virtualizing mission-critical systems. This is a far cry from a couple of years ago, when these same percentages might be tied to who was testing virtualized environments. And for the internal cloud lovers out there, the study found 31 percent of respondents already pursuing “dynamic resource optimization objectives.”
