NIST’s Cyber Security Coordination Task Group has released its draft report, “Smart Grid Cyber Security Strategy and Requirements” (PDF). On page 30 is an AMI diagram that by its very complexity illustrates the challenge of securing the grid. Makes me wonder if Symantec, McAfee and other security firms noticed diagram’s fleeting resemblance to computer network topologies they already know so well.
