Like Akimbo before it, Joost is going from end-user facing to white-label video solutions provider. As Chris notes over at NewTeeVee, its been a stuggle for Joost – once heralded as the online video kool-kid – to find an audience in a Hulu dominated premium video world. There were many factors contributing to Joost’s decline, including a poorly performing P2P network and, later, a lack of good content partners. In a sense, Joost is not unlike the drummer who banged the skins for the Beatles before Hulu, um, I mean Ringo. So close, yet so far.
