For example, I read recently about a restaurant which noticed that its energy use spiked at night. The owner of their energy-monitoring service figured out that the delivery guys were leaving the walk-in freezer propped open while they unloaded goods. Twitter (or some social-media-esque forum) might be a way to crowdsource this kind of insight without needing a consultant. But mostly, I think the value of social media might be in getting companies to gather data -- and generate results -- that are worth sharing. Aren&#039;t companies more likely to stick to their green/sustainability plans if someone&#039;s watching?]]></description>
