The rumor that Amazon will open source it’s Amazon Web Services API has big implications for the cloud space. If Amazon does, in fact, do this, its API could go from being the de facto standard to the actual standard. And the prospect of interoperability likely would drive even more customers in Amazon’s direction. Amazon just keeps making all the right moves.
